Mobile parking apps are becoming an important part of everyday life, especially with each app’s endless and unique features. But how do we know which features may benefit your parking operation and won’t hinder your search? Luckily, we have compiled a list of features to look for when implementing a mobile parking app at your facility.

1. Overall ease of use: One of the most important things to look for in an app is whether the platform is easy to use. This can include easy navigation and an intuitive design. Typically, when users find an app too complex, they will stray away from it and opt for an app with a clean design and straightforward interface. The app should also incorporate fast loading times on parking availability. This feature is essential when users are in a rush or want real-time updates on parking availability to make informed decisions on the road safely.

2. Navigational and locational tools: Another important feature is that the app has an integrated navigation system, so the user doesn’t have to switch between various applications to get to their destination, helping to minimize app fatigue. The app should also incorporate a geolocation feature, allowing users to receive directions to their destination from their current location and help locate their vehicle when returning to it.

3. Personalization options: One of the most beneficial features for a user is the ability to have control over their app experience. That’s why customization is key, as it allows users to personalize the app to their liking and get parking spots that cater to their needs. A way to provide this is to incorporate a filter option where users can filter by price, distance, amenities, and other things that matter to them. There should also be an option for users to like or save specific locations they would like to revisit in the future.

4. Feedback and support opportunities: Users oftentimes need quick and straightforward answers to frequently asked questions. That is why it is important to implement an in-app support chat. When a potential customer wants to learn more about a specific parking location, they often go to the reviews and ratings section. This gives them a detailed location analysis, what’s nearby, and more. Besides looking at reviews, they could also write one of their own on their experience and provide feedback that can help improve the parking facility. It’s a win-win.

5. Compatibility across locations and device types: Mobile parking apps should be able to function nationwide. With this feature, users can use the app in various locations, providing a sense of familiarity. Given this, it should also incorporate multi-language support, which is a great option for non-native speakers so they can easily navigate the platform. There should also be an option for those with multiple devices to sync the platform across the board.

The above must-have mobile parking app features allow for a smooth and seamless driving and parking experience.
