No two parking operations are the same. Every parking facility has its own goals and custom solutions in place to achieve those goals. This is why it can be challenging to determine whether your parking operation is successful and hitting its peak performance on a daily basis. There are several simple questions you can ask yourself to determine if your parking operation is completely optimized.

Is your parking revenue meeting your financial targets?

Analyze your parking revenue. Is it meeting or exceeding your financial targets? This is a good indicator of whether or not your parking operation is successful.

Does your parking facility provide a seamless customer experience?

Parking is the first and last thing many of your customers will experience when they come to your facility. Although parking is inherently challenging, customer satisfaction plays an important role in the success of your parking operation. If high volumes of customers aren’t satisfied, this is an indication that improvements need to be made.

Are you measuring what you manage?

As the person responsible for overseeing your organization’s parking program, you should be able to provide your superiors with key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the success of your parking operation. KPIs, such as profit, maintenance, and technical service calls, as well as customer complaints, are all good indicators of success.

Is your parking equipment operational and serving its purpose?

Your parking operation can’t be successful if the equipment doesn’t work or if your financial processes aren’t secure and operational. Can you easily reconcile parking financial information to onsite parking activity? And how often is your parking equipment being serviced or malfunctioning versus being operational?

Partnering with a managed parking services provider who can support you every step of the way will help you determine whether or not your parking operation is reaching its full potential. The role of a parking management provider is to determine areas of improvement, business recommendations for these areas, as well as data-driven reports and insights.
